What is Parent Involvement?

Parents are the most influential adults in any child's life. We want to partner with you. Please contact the main office at anytime (850) 453-7426 to find out how you can be involved.

1st of the month...

On the first of every month (or the next school day if the 1st is on a Sat/Sun) you can come up to WES and meet with school leaders to discuss all that is happening and how we can support each other/ These meetings are scheduled for 9am but may adjust as schedules require.


Parent Involvement


Warrington Elementary School recognizes that a critical part of effective schooling is parent involvement. The school and the home cannot be looked at in isolation from one another; families and schools need to collaborate to help children adjust to the responsibilities of being successful students.
Research has shown that involvement by parents as partners in their children’s education contributes greatly to student achievement and conduct.
1. Families provide the primary educational environment.
2. Parent involvement in their children’s education improves student
3. Parent involvement in children’s education is more important to student
success than family income or education.
4. Parent involvement with the school is most effective when it is supportive,
long-lasting, and well-planned.
5. The benefits of parent involvement for students are not limited to early
childhood or the elementary grades; positive benefits continue on through
high school.
6. Parents need to be involved in supporting their children’s education both at
home and in school; in order to ensure the quality of the schools.

The staff of Warrington Elementary School believes that the education of its students is a responsibility shared with parents. The school’s primary responsibility shall be to provide a high quality curriculum and instructional program in a supportive and effective learning environment that enables all students to meet the academic expectations set forth in the Florida Sunshine State Standards.

Parents shall have the responsibility and opportunity to work with the school in a mutually supportive and respectful partnership with the goal of helping their children succeed in school.

National Standards For Parent and Family Involvment

1.  COMMUNICATION:  Communication between home and school is regular, two-way, and meaningful.

2.  PARENTING:  Parenting skills are promoted and supported.

3.  STUDENT LEARNING:  Parents play an integral role in assisting student learning.

4.  VOLUNTEERING:  Parents are welcome in the school, and their support and assistance are sought.

5.  SCHOOL DECISION-MAKING AND ADVOCACY:  Parents are full partners in the decisions that affect children and families.

6.  COLLABORATING WITH THE COMMUNITY:  Community resources are used to strengthen schools, families, and student learning.
