K-5 ESE

WES ESE Services and Inclusion Model

1. Inclusion Classrooms (K-5): Students will receive assistance from the ESE teacher for MOST learning activities in Reading and Math.  Students will be expected to meet grade level Common Core State Standards with appropriate accommodations.

Structure: ESE teachers (K-2 Mooneyham) and (3-5 Farias) and the General Education teachers (Britt, Thompson, Niedermayer)  and (Peirce, Herring, Langford) will collaborate to plan, implement and assess interventions for ESE and TIER III students. Data will be reviewed weekly. This team of teachers (Inclusion Team) will meet every Thursday during Special Area to discuss students’ data, progress and to adjust instruction and plans based on students’ needs.

2. Resource Classrooms (K-5): Students will receive assistance from the ESE teacher for SOME learning activities in Reading and Math.  Students will be expected to meet grade level Common Core State Standards with appropriate accommodations.

Structure: ESE teacher (Pham) and the General Education teachers (Christopher, Faumui, Sullivan) and (Singletary and Santos) will collaborate to plan, implement and assess interventions for ESE students. Data will be reviewed weekly. This team of teachers (ESE Resource Team) will meet every 2nd/4th Thursday during Special Area to discuss students’ data, progress and to adjust instruction and plans based on students’ needs.

3. Access Point Classrooms (K-2 and 3-5):  This is a self-contained classroom of students who receive modifications from an ESE teacher (Sites and Russell).  The curriculum is aligned with the Common Core State Standards and the students take an alternate assessment instead of the FCAT.

Structure: ESE teachers (Sites and Russell) and the Access Points’ Teacher Aides (Cunningham and Coleman) and (McCastler and New Aide) will collaborate to plan, implement and assess interventions for ESE students. Data will be reviewed weekly. This team of teachers and teacher aides (Access Point Team) will meet every 2nd/4th Thursday after school to discuss students’ data, progress and to adjust instruction and plans based on students’ needs.

4. EBD Classrooms: (Bosso and Gambles)-No changes will be made to the structure or curriculum, except students will now be expected to meet grade level Common Core State Standards.
